Insert a text box and resize/move it to the area you want it to be. Select the text orientation you need and select okay. Then click on “Format” at the top of the page, and select “Text Direction” from the list of options. Select the cell or cells you want to change the text direction of. With text, you have to follow a few extra steps to get there. Images are easy enough to deal with – you simply rotate them 90° and you’re done. Which is, of course, fine if you are confident setting up a template, but if you want a simpler trick, then you’ll want to use the “Text Direction” tool. So if you try this option, you will – essentially – find yourself setting up an entirely new template. While it is easy enough to alter the page layout from portrait to landscape (or vice versa!), Word will only change the orientation of the page and not the content on that page – so your template grid remains exactly as it was, and ends up dropping off the bottom of the page.
